Gurus Speak In Tongues.

It’s a sad fact that the word guru is now becoming synonymous with the “self proclaimed ones” who simply want to cash in on the growing number of people that genuinely want to make money from information and Internet marketing.

Some of them might not even realise who they are; ignorant to the fact that providing semi worthless information is counter productive in the long term. But with many it’s blatantly obvious that their main goal is to provide endless information and products that do little more than line their own pockets and increase their database of semi naïve prospects.

Marketing to the marketers, like lambs to the slaughter.

Anyone who’s been around the internet marketing world for a little while begins to recognise the self proclaimed ones from the genuine gurus. Not that internet marketing itself isn’t a huge and profitable niche, it definitely is. But it’s much cheaper, quicker and easier to create lots of products based on theories and ideas and sell them fairly cheaply than it is to provide something of genuine quality that does exactly what it says on the box.

The difference is clear in the way some products stay around for ever and will always be valuable and how the majority disappear faster than they appeared. The key here should be to take note of who promotes such products.

One of the first things anyone wishing to get involved in Internet marketing should do is to familiarise themselves with the two types of marketers. This is necessary for two good reasons.

1 You’ll lose money and probably not make any yourself. Actually you may lose a lot of money.

2 It’s unlikely you’ll learn anything worthwhile except how to be like them and the endless promoters of the next hot product work harder than anyone and line other people’s pockets.

A few top tips:

If something isn’t sought after by a hungry market then its never going to sell.

Beware of new hot products that make bold statements about the amount of cash they generate. Do some research first; the easiest way is just to wait a while and see how long it’s around for. Hot, profitable products do exist but you have to ensure that what you are buying is the genuine article and not just something masquerading as one.

Don’t buy anything that you don’t get at least Master Resell Rights to. The internet is full of people advertising, promoting and trying to sell identical products. You have to be able to change things slightly so that they become more unique and create traffic and sales for you.

Try and locate unique, quality products that no-one else is selling and acquire master resell rights. This one simple action can put you in a very powerful position because you will not only own the rights to something no-one else is promoting, you will be able to sell resell rights to others at a bigger profit than you’d make just selling the product.

As long as you identify and promote good quality products that provide a service to the end user you will develop a trusted reputation and a growing customer base that you can continue to sell to.
